Stan Shih Brings Together Technology and Art to Present an Immersive Music Experience with Generative Artist Wu Che-yu and One Song Orchestra and Ambi Space One

[TAIPEI, December 28, 2022] Integrating technology and art, Stan Shih has brought together a collaborative work of modern exhibition space (Ambi Space One), generative artist (Wu Che-yu), and music (One Song Orchestra). A performance of the One Song Orchestra’s new music entitled “String Dance I” recorded inside the Ambi Space One and featuring intricate digital art is the fruit born from this cross-domain collaboration and can be viewed as a music video.

Stan Shih, co-founder of Acer and chairman of the StanShih Foundation, is a veteran of the IT industry and has devoted his time to personal social responsibilities upon retiring from the industry’s daily operations. In recent years, he has been actively pushing for cross-domain integration of technology and the arts and has encouraged businesses to give their support. Shih believes that by enhancing the public's understanding and appreciation of art, it can create positive values for society by enriching minds and contributing to people's wellness.

In 2019 Shih founded CT Ambi Investment and Consulting Inc. and partnered with Taiwan’s high-tech companies to create an immersive performance venue named Ambi Space One located in the iconic Taipei 101. The venue features 43 pieces of high-tech projection equipment by Delta Electronics and an IT production platform provided by Acer Synergy Tech, a subsidiary of Acer Group.

This three-way cross-domain collaboration was successfully brought together by Stan Shih’s connections: he serves as chairman of CT Ambi, which owns Ambi Space One; Acer, co-founded by Shih, is a shareholder of CT Ambi; and lastly, Shih has devoted his time to supporting art and cultural groups for many years, including One Song Orchestra.

String Dance I Music Video

Music from “String Dance I” music video was composed by One Song Orchestra founder and award-winning composer, Che-Yi Lee, in 2008. The immersive visuals are the works of New York-based Taiwanese generative artist Wu Che-yu, who first met Shih at age 14 as a participant and winner of the Acer Digital Creation Awards. The music video images are Wu’s artistic creations that translate the virtual NFT generative art into a physical immersive work.

According to Shih, the integration of technology and the arts will bring about new innovations in music videos, providing new experiences in auditory and visual senses. The generated art displayed at Ambi Space One is enabled through technology, Shih believes that the key to the development of the metaverse is content.
